  1. Sadly, I am straight up purple. 😆

I found my best shade in EL Double Wear: 2C3 “Fresco.” Unfortunately, their new formulation is not for me (to put it mildly.)

Bc I know “Fresco” works for me, I swatched that color next to every “cool” foundation in Sephora in my shade range (light to light-medium). All of them were too yellow or too “coral” (meaning they weren’t just too “pink” they were a pinky-orange color compared to my 2C3 “Fresco.”)

I don’t know what to do. I’m slowly resigning myself to adding a purple liquid blush to my foundation. But, I really don’t want to play color mixologist every morning. I just want a foundation that matches straight out of the bottle.

Any insight or ideas would be greatly appreciated. 💙

  2. Thank you so much for this video! You explained this so well! I was about to give up as I am Hispanic with light medium warm undertones but sometimes foundations can look too orange, pink or gray, even too green, depending on brand.
What shade do you wear in Haus for starting points please?

  3. Ah, thank you! I was wondering why I got swatched so light in stores. Turns out I was just seeing it super wet. Still struggle with undertones though.

  4. This is without a doubt the BEST tutorial on finding your Shade! I feel I’m armed and ready to go and try some foundations now!

    Thank you!!

  5. Also something I’ve been learning that if the shade you get is a close match but you still want it to lean closer to the actual tone in your neck, using mixing pigments like LA Girl can help balance out the shade. For instance I am an Olive undertone myself but I have learned through another artist by using color theory I can mix pigments into my foundation on my hand to balance out if the shade is a tad too warm on me. And by that I mean I add my foundation on top of my hand and the mixing color and combine that before I put foundation on my face.
