WHY AM I SO STIFF IN THE MORNING?
Overnight, your body goes hours without moving, and that stillness is exactly why you wake up stiff. Joint fluid settles, your muscles lose their normal activation, and the soft tissue around your spine and joints loses the elasticity that only comes from movement. That’s morning stiffness in a nutshell, and it’s completely normal, but it doesn’t have to control your morning.
WHY STRETCHING ALONE DOESN’T FIX MORNING STIFFNESS
Most people reach for a few passive stretches first thing and call it done, but a cold, unactivated muscle doesn’t respond well to just being pulled on. What your body actually needs is dynamic movement and muscle activation to get blood flowing and wake up the neural connections that control your joints. That’s the difference between a stretching routine and a true morning mobility routine, and it’s exactly why this one works.
BEST MORNING MOBILITY EXERCISES TO STOP STIFFNESS
This routine moves through eight targeted exercises hitting your spine, hips, and core with real activation instead of passive holds. Follow along every morning and you’ll start feeling the difference in how your body moves, not just how it stretches. Grab your mat and let’s get moving.

I am doing these exercises for a few month now and finally I can reap the results. In the beginning I was not able neither to feel nor to contract my glute muscles ( glute bridge exercise)! It took a while to wake them up… If not this webpage, if would be in dark and without any help. I never understood why when doing hip hinge ( if this a right term?) my quadriceps and hamstrings always- always!- become super, super painful and full of knots…. and neither physiotherapist or massage therapist were able to explain it. I got all the answers here, on this channel. Thank you once more for this gift, for this webpage.
Being on a small pension and not being able to get any help in doctors office, I found the very best help on this channel.
I see a few people talking about having less dialog in the videos . I think it’s very valuable off the top for the first few times then I just shut the sound off and do the routine . I wonder though for future videos if you couldn’t have two versions . One for learning and one for continuing practice that just has the timing cues and music. I know that’s asking for more work on your part and I find your videos have been very helpful. I am active but I found some simple things like dropping my keys and having a difficult time picking them up easily prompted me to look for some solutions. You really helped , thank you!!💪🏼💪🏼
Thanks for providing — and leading us through — the entire routine. Super helpful!
Absolutely enjoyed this stretch. I have MS and some mornings I am more tight then others. Today was that day. I came across this and I feel much better is my movement and my tight hips and lower back feel much improved. Thank you for sharing.
