I’m challenging myself to get shredded with meal prep… but it actually tastes good.

The whole point of meal prep is to save time and money. Most people couldn’t do this in three hours, let alone one. I know only one person who owns a sous vide machine. A realistic home cook setup is probably just an oven and cook top.
What kinds of meals work for that? One pot meals. Casseroles, rice pots, chicken and something else, etc.
Start with a casserole. Keep it simple. Rotisserie chicken from a local grocery store. Box of macaroni. Bag of frozen veggies. Shredded cheese or cheese that you can grate (cheddar is fine). Crunchy onions. Cream of mushroom soup. Boil and strain the veggies and macaroni. Shred the breasts from the chicken. Keep the rest of the meat for another day. Open 3 cans of cream of mushroom soup. Mix all that and the shredded cheese in a baking dish. Add a little salt and pepper. You can mix in a little of the dried, crunchy onions at this point. Top with a little more cheese. Bake at 375 for 20-30 mins.
Top with more cruchy onions. Let it cool. Eat what you can. Parcel the rest. Freeze it.
Total cost for the entire meal? About $16. It can provide about 10 meals. $1.60 per meal.
$3 for half the Rotisserie. $5 for 3 cans cream of mushroom soup. $2 for dried onions. $3 for the cheese. $2 for the frozen veggies. $1 for the macaroni.
Time to do everything. Less than 1 hour. 15 mins to boil and strain the macaroni and veggies. 5 mins to mix everything. 25 mins in the oven at 375.
Josh, I love your shows. I have problems with this one. I don’t own a souvie and I’m not buying one. Bread in the refrigerator is gross so No! Most important, I don’t have this kind of room in my fridge for all those containers. So maybe next time we could have most of the food cooked, ready to plate heat and eat. I can make toast fast in my handy dandy toaster! Thanks buddy keep it up oh ps maybe a way to make the rice not boring with out butter s and p
if I first need to buy 3000€worth of tools to make this, its no longer cheap lol.
These vegetable sides are not substantial theyre just girly colorful bs.
Will these actually store in the fridge? How do you heat them up?
